Dance2Salsa has secured a fantastic venue located in the prestigious grounds of the Bird Hills Golf Club. This venue has a great wooden dance floor, massive parking, a seated area overlooking the dance floor, same area bar and is easily accessible from junction 8/9 of the M4.
We will have 5 levels of salsa classes for absolute beginners through to advanced dancers followed by party and dancing through to 1.30am.
At 8.00pm, there will be 2 levels of Salsa for absolute beginners and beginners (Level 2), plus 2 levels of Cha Cha Cha with the D2S team
At 9.00 there will be a salsa class for Level 3 improvers taught by the D2S team, an intermediate (Level 4) salsa class taught by Kathy Towersey, and an advanced salsa class taught by guest teachers Terry & Yolande.
Terry and Yolande are founders of 2x award winner Salsa Chillout. They have been dancing since 1994 and teach salsa On1. They have taught at many of the UK’s biggest events as well as in America and Europe.
Classes will be followed by party & dancing to some of the freshest, funkiest afro-latin sounds around played by resident DJs Basil, Tony & Simon
Late Addition: At 11.30 we will also have a Bachata performance by upcoming couple Gus & Grace.

The salsa figures are fast and furious and the emphatic movements perfectly highlight the versatility and variety of the song (Catano by Tito Rodriguez) to which they perform.

Dance2Salsa Team Performances

Dance2Salsa is one of the premier dance companies in Berkshire and the South of England and has been established for just over 5 years. In addition to providing an excellent educational dance experience through well-structured classes, Dance2Salsa is also one of the few dance companies providing an opportunity for it’s students to take part in performance teams at a student (Fuego) and semi-professional (Tiempo y Cadencia) level. These teams spend a significant amount of time over the course of 6 months rehearsing and performing at some of the country’s top salsa venues.

Dance2Salsa’s Semi-Pro team Tiempo y Cadencia, is currently composed of 3 couples and is a fantastic exploration in musicality, timing, synchronicity, complex salsa figures and acrobatics. This show performed to Los Feos Pa’ La Cocina by Augusto Enriquez y Su Mambo Band will leave you breathless and entertained.

Salsa is a fantastic, fun, social evening out, and a great opportunity to make new friends. It is great exercise and you can come along with or without a partner. You do not have to have any previous salsa or dance experience as our level 1 classes are designed for absolute beginners. Of course, we also cater for more advanced dancers with classes at 6 different levels up to Advanced 2.
Our classes are based on a structured syllabus built around a six week program. The courses are designed to take a student from Beginners (Level 1) to Advanced2 (Level 6). A number of specific steps and techniques are taught at each level.
Courses are taught and delivered to a very high standard with a major emphasis on fun, development and exercise. Classes start approximately every six weeks throughout the year on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
The courses have been validated by Basil Pinnock who is a UKA qualified instructor with the United Kingdom Alliance and a director of Dance2Salsa.
If you are unable to attend a particular class you can attend one of our other classes on a different night.

Sa’id hails from Siera Leone and is a detail-oriented and dedicated ‘Kizombeiro’ whose love and knowledge of the dance, music and culture spans the various forms of Semba, Pasada, Coladeira and Tarraxinha. Once a protegee of the masterful and renowned Kizomba Professor Kwenda Lima, Sa’id transforms and interprets Kizomba from a casual social dance to an experience which connects the dancer to the music to become one and the same. Sa’id has been performing and teaching Kizomba since 2007 at congresses throughout Europe. He currently lives and teaches mainly in London.
At 9.00 there will be a salsa class for level 3 improvers taught by the D2S team, an intermediate level 4 salsa class taught by Kathy Towersey, and an advanced salsa class taught by guest teachers Michael Pottinger & Maxine.
Michael Pottinger is the founder of “Smooth Salsa” and has been teaching people how to dance salsa in the Midlands for around 14 years with his dance partner Maxine Stephens. Michael & Maxine are renowned in Birmingham and the Midlands for their detail in the technical aspects of partner work and for their humorous teaching style. They are regularly invited to do guest teaching spots and have taught salsa at some of the UK’s biggest annual salsa events and congresses.
Classes will be followed by party & dancing to some of the freshest, funkiest afro-latin sounds around played by resident DJs Basil, Tony & Simon and a debut performance by the Dance2Salsa Advanced Student Team Fuego.

Dance off your Christmas Dinner at our fabulous Boxing Day Party Night!
Bird Hills Golf Club is a fantastic venue, with a great wooden dance floor, massive parking, a seated area overlooking the dance floor, same area bar and is easily accessible from junction 8/9 of the M4.
We will have 5 levels of salsa classes for absolute beginners through to advanced dancers followed by party and dancing through to 2.30am to the sounds of DJs Basil, Tony & Simon playing some of the freshest, funkiest afro-latin sounds around.
At 8.00pm, there will be 2 Levels of Kizomba, plus 2 levels of Salsa for absolute beginners and beginners level 2.
At 9.00 there will be a salsa class for improver levels taught by Tom, an intermediate level salsa class taught by Kathy Towersey, and an advanced salsa class which will be taught this month by Michael Pottinger.

Party Season Mini-Workshops & Parties

The Party Season has arrived!
Starting tonight – Monday 12th December – we will be running a series of mini-workshops during the first half of our regular class nights, leading up to our Christmas Party on Wednesday 21st December. Please note: Level 4, 5 & 6 salsa classes will run as normal from 9.00pm – 10.00pm.
All mini-workshops are open to dancers at level 2 and above, and will run from 7.30pm – 8.45pm. We will also run a drop-in ‘Introduction to Salsa’ class for new beginners at the same time. These will be followed by our regular Level 4, 5 & 6 salsa classes from 9.00pm – 10.00pm, and social dancing.
